Brussels, 31 March 2016
The European Commission has approved under the EU Merger Regulation the proposed acquisition of Xchanging plc of the United Kingdom by Computer Sciences Corporation of the US.
Xchanging provides business processing, technology and procurement services internationally for customers in the accounting and procurement, financial services and insurance sectors. Computer Sciences Corporation provides IT services across a range of industries covering chemicals, energy and natural resources, financial services, healthcare, agriculture and manufacturing, public sector services and technology to customers in the private and public sectors.
The Commission concluded that the proposed acquisition would raise no competition concerns, in particular because of the limited overlaps between the companies' activities resulting from the transaction. The transaction was examined under the simplified merger review procedure. More information is available on the Commission's competition website, in the public case register under the case number M.7937.
