During grade school, William played on multiple competitive sports teams, including his school basketball team, the school district team, a traveling basketball team called Rising Stars, and a traveling football team called the Falcons. His experience there was exceptionally positive, and he learned a good deal about the profession from its owner.

Concurrently, he was hired as a General Motors Service Technician at Kudrick Chevrolet and Buick in Mauston, Wisconsin.
In his spare time, William enjoys seasonal outdoor activities. In the spring and summer, he can often be found boating on the Wisconsin River. In the autumn and winter, William enjoys snowmobiling and spending time restoring classic and collector cars and trucks.
