His passion for hip-hop music & his entrepreneurial spirit managed to raise money for XXXTentacion's charity after his recent unfortunate passing. As founder of Jersey Champs, Sean utilized his platform of over one million Instagram followers to raise money through jersey sales. At just 21 years old, Sean has a goal of donating $1 million dollars to various charities within the next year. With the power of social media marketing, Sean found a way to generate massive revenues through customizable sports jerseys. We had a chance to interview Sean and asked about his story, why he started his business and the future of Jersey Champs. Tell us your story. Why did you start your business?
I started Jersey Champs quite frankly because I was tired of seeing the same jerseys all over campus. I wanted to change the jersey world with unique jerseys. Also the shirt and hoodie market has much more competition and lower profit margins. I created a completely new market with custom jerseys and that is how all successful apparel companies start out; by being different.
How did you come up with your business name?
I'm from New Jersey, so Jersey represents my state. Champs are people that stand out from the rest of the pack, so every single one of our customers that decided to purchase a jersey from us is a champ in our eyes. You are killing the jersey game if you have one of our jerseys, automatically making you a champ.
Tell us about your jerseys, how do you make them?
We have all types of jerseys, ranging from basketball jerseys to hockey jerseys. All the designs are made by our in-house design team. As far as the creation process, we own factories in several countries. Depending on how quickly we need the jerseys is what determines which factory we produce the jerseys in. For Holiday season, we make sure to get the jerseys made in the US to meet shipping deadlines.
What makes your company unique? What is your unique selling proposition (USP)?
What makes us unique is people cannot purchase most of our jerseys anywhere else, so we have had a ton of leverage with the price point. However, since we target such a young demographic(college students & high schoolers), we make sure to price our jerseys at an extremely affordable price and run sales often. We also give out 1,000 free jerseys every week out on our website and we have been doing this for several months with excellent feedback. Our customers seem to love how much we give back to them.
Where do you see your business in the next 3-5 years?
We recently dedicated 100% of the profits of one top-selling jersey a month to a charity organization. We hope to have raised millions of dollars for charities by then and have grown the company to a much larger scale with over 100+ employees. Hopefully, we will have all our social media channels verified by then so we can start raising some serious money without any doubt. We received a fair amount of caution with our first charity run, and it was such a shame that we couldn't raise more money due to skepticism. Now that the money has been donated, we hope consumers will trust our brand now because I take our brand image very seriously.

Stop talking about your idea and go out there and just do it. Simple as that.
