U.S. Government Repeals Country-of-Origin Labels for Beef and Pork; Orders EPA to not Monitor Pollution Caused by Meat Industry
Some very meaty decisions out of Washington appear to be unhealthy for consumers and the environment. First, Congress and President Barack Obama teamed up to repeal mandatory country-of-origin labeling for pork and beef products. The labeling requirements were eliminated through an attachment to the omnibus budget bill passed by Congress and signed by Obama earlier this month.
