Mergers: Commission clears acquisition of joint control of NEP by Carlyle Group and Crestview Advisors
European Commission - Daily News
Brussels, 21 June 2016
The European Commission has approved under the EU Merger Regulation the acquisition of joint control of NEP by the Carlyle Group together with Crestview Advisors, all of the US.
NEP is a production company that provides outsourced broadcast engineering and production services to production companies and broadcasters around the world for live broadcast of sports events, award shows, music concerts and studio shows. Carlyle is a global alternative asset manager. Crestview is a private equity firm, which currently has sole control over NEP.
The Commission concluded that the proposed acquisition would raise no competition concerns because there are no overlaps between the activities of Carlyle and NEP. The transaction was examined under the simplified merger review procedure. More information is available on the Commission's competition website, in the public case register under the case number M.8030.
