Assistant Secretary for Arms Control, Verification and Compliance Frank A. Rose will travel to New York from October 3-7, 2016, to lead the U.S. Delegation to the 71st United Nations General Assembly First Committee (UNFC), which is focused on disarmament and international security. While at the UNFC, Assistant Secretary Rose will deliver the U.S. opening statement during the General Debate and participate in bilateral and multilateral meetings on a variety of arms control and strategic stability issues.
On October 5, Assistant Secretary Rose will cohost, along with the Nuclear Threat Initiative (NTI), a briefing at the United Nations on the International Partnership for Nuclear Disarmament Verification (IPNDV).
On October 6, Assistant Secretary Rose will host a high-level U.S. interagency panel discussion at the United Nations on U.S. nuclear policy and programs, and will take part in a nuclear policy and doctrine seminar convened by the P5.
