(EMAILWIRE.COM, December 18, 2015 ) University of Victoria, BC -- Campus Dental Centre, the Well-known provider of Invisalign in Victoria, has announced that even young adults can benefit from braces, and that can be achieved with Invisalign aligners in Victoria. This is part of the dental clinic's drive to increase awareness about new dental solutions among the student
"Many of the students in the University of Victoria think that they're too old for braces, and they don't want the stigma of wearing them while in school," explains Dr. Frank Van Gyn, whose experience in dentistry spans for more than 40 years. "But with Invisalign, they can have their bites corrected without fear of teasing or ridicule from their peers."
Invisalign involves the use of virtually invisible transparent aligners that don't require the use of metallic wires or brackets. They can be worn comfortably without anybody else noticing that there are there.
"Invisalign doesn't need the support of wires or brackets, because we use advanced 3D imaging to make sure that we construct the aligners that fit each of our patients perfectly," explains Dr. Van Gyn. "We even have an Invisalign version for teenagers, Which are ideal and effective for the younger students here at the University of Victoria."
The main advantage of Invisalign is that it won't interfere with the social lives of the student patients. There are no obvious metal devices in the mouth for others to focus on.
"Many of our patients are students who simply do not have the confidence to wear traditional braces in school, because admittedly, these braces don't really look all that nice," says Dr. Van Gyn. "That's not a problem with the invisible Invisalign, and what's really great about it is that they work just as well as traditional braces to straighten the teeth, so that eventually they will have an even better smile to be proud of."
But its invisibility is not just its only advantage. It is also much more comfortable to wear as well.
"Traditional braces can be very uncomfortable as they are abrasive and they can make eating painful," explains Dr. Van Gyn. "But Invisalign aligners only cause mild pain at the start and they disappear after a very short while."
In addition, Invisalign braces can easily be removed when it's time to eat. This is in stark contrast to traditional braces and Campus Dental Centre can offer Invisalign braces at their dental practice in Victoria.
"This means that our patients can just discreetly pop out the aligner when they want to eat, and then they can pop it back in," assures Dr. Van Gyn. "They won't have to worry about food bits getting stuck in the braces, which can really be mortifying for anyone."
