Over 8 tons of drugs have an estimated street value of $240 million. Four men were arrested during the operation, however, the leader Dario "Otoniel" suga remains at large. Dario "Otoniel" suga also has ties to the Los Urabeos criminal organization. The U.S. State Department has offered $5 million for information leading to his arrest.
A representative of Miami Drug Rehab comments:
"Drug cartels and gangs have held too much power in Colombia for far too long; by taking these steps to regain control over illegal activity like drug trafficking and gang activity, Colombian authorities can improve the lives of the Colombian people and improve the lives of people around the world. This massive, historic undertaking is a positive step- one that should continue in the coming days, months, and years. It's time to stop living in fear of these gangs and reclaim control."
