The Organising Committee for Rio 2016 Olympic Games released today (Jun. 2) tickets for the opening and closing ceremonies of the Paralympic Games in D price category, which costs R$100. The tickets can be purchased online, at www.rio2016.com/ingressos.
According to the Committee's ticketing director, Donovan Ferreti, this lot includes tickets for the lowest price categories that were already sold out. The tickets were released exactly 100 days before the Paralympics begin.
The sale at the ticket box office is expected to be released in mid-June, in shopping malls. Then, box offices will be opened at the Olympic facilities. In cities where football matches will be played (São Paulo, Brasília, Belo Horizonte, Salvador and Manaus), the sale shall be released on June 20.
According to Ferreti, there are still tickets on sale for preliminary rounds of Olympic Games, including volleyball, beach volleyball, and basketball.
The Paralympic Games opening ceremony is scheduled for September 7, from 5h30pm to 8h35pm. The price of ticket for the opening ceremony vary from R$100 to R$1.2000. The closing ceremony, in its turn, is scheduled for September 18, from 7h30pm to 10pm, with tickets ranging from R$100 from R$1,000.
Affordable tickets for nine Paralympic sports are also being sold for $10. The sports are: athletics marathon, boccia, wheelchair fencing, goal ball, powerlifting, table tennis, wheelchair tennis, archery and sailing. Tickets for the Paralympics finals of athletics, track cycling, equestrian and archery are also being sold for R$30.
Among the speed-related Paralympic sports, the tickets price vary from R$20 to R$110; road cycling, at R$10; track cycling, from R$30 to R$70; and triathlon, at $20. The prices of tickets for Paralympic water sports vary from R$10 to R$20 for sailing; R$20 and R$50 for canoe spring; R$40 and R$90 for swimming; and R$20 and R$40 for rowing.
Regarding the Brazilian participation in the competition, there are tickets being sold from R$50 to R$90 for the finals of Brazilian parathlete Daniel Dias in freestyle, butterfly, breaststroke and backstroke, scheduled for September 8, 10, 11, 12, 16 and 17. Tickets for the swimming finals of Paralympic athlete Joana Neves are also available at the same price and her competitions are scheduled for September 8, 10, 12 and 17.
In athletics, the 100-meter final of Brazilian parathlete Terezinha Guilhermina is scheduled for September 9, at 17:30. Prices vary from R$70 to R$110. The 200-meter finals are scheduled for September 13, the prices vary from R$50 to R$70. The same prices are charged for the 400-meter finals (on September 16).
