After Gunfire, Police Followed Trail of Blood to Find Suspect
This morning, a 38-year-old man tried to hold up an armored truck parked outside a Wells Fargo Bank in Aurora. The guard and suspect exchanged fire. The suspect was hit and ran to a nearby apartment complex to hide. Aurora Police followed his trail of blood, and, soon after, the suspect surrendered.
The attempted robbery happened around 7:45 a.m. on July 25, 2016, at the Wells Fargo at 999 South Sable Boulevard in Aurora.
The suspect was taken to a hospital and is suffering non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect’s name and booking photo will not be released at this time due to the ongoing investigation. He faces state and/or federal charges.
According to FBI statistics, from January 1, 2015 to December 31, 2015, there were 28 robberies or attempted robberies of armored carrier companies nationwide.
