The Lower Merion Township Police Department and the FBI are seeking the public’s assistance to identify and locate the subject responsible for the April 22, 2016 armed robbery of the J.B. Merrick Apothecary located at 31 Cricket Avenue in Ardmore, Lower Merion Township, Pennsylvania.
At approximately 9:25 a.m. on Friday, April 22, the subject entered the pharmacy and brandished a black handgun. He vaulted the counter, pointed the gun at employees, and demanded Oxycontin and other narcotics. After obtaining an undisclosed amount and type of pills, the subject fled in an employee’s silver 2016 Hyundai Sonata with a Maryland tag. The car was later located in an alley behind 1961-1971 North 52nd Street in Philadelphia; it is believed the subject may live in that area.
The subject is described as a black male, age unknown, approximately 6’0" tall. He wore a black, long-sleeved shirt with a bear, a star, and the words “California Republic” on the front in white; and dark-colored pants, shoes, and gloves. His hair and most of his face were concealed by a black head covering and veil in the style worn by some Muslim women.
This subject is considered armed and dangerous. There is a reward for information leading to this subject’s capture; tipsters can remain anonymous.
