Corona Virus leading to Innovative Marketing Campaigns For Business Survival
Natural disasters and calamities have changed world trends many times. As the global market grows with trade and sharing culture and styles, it is inevitable for trends to be effected after the whole world has been hit by the Corona Virus Pandemic.
After the great depression of the 1930’s, the markets suffered a great deal. But the power of marketing showed that it is the real game-changer. In the late 1940’s diamonds became very popular when a company named De Beer ran a marketing campaign by the name of “A Diamond is Forever” this campaign gave rise to diamond rings being used as engagement rings and after that, the worth of diamonds only came up!
Calamities they say damage and create businesses. After the Covid-19 crisis, many companies lost the game of profit and many had to shut down. Restaurants, apparel, and tourism industry experienced one of the biggest shocks of the decade or maybe two decades. Amidst all this chaos some companies have dug their way out of their graves with smart and tacky marketing techniques.
The apparel industry moved towards online catwalks from home, making it a quarantine trend. Some companies also introduced a trend of recycling old clothes by pairing them with new pieces of clothes. Others went towards running mask campaigns which caught the attention of many people. Wearing unique masks became a popular trend on social media.
Amidst all this, a Pakistani company in Dubai came up with an interesting way to market their product. The company sells Mangoes which are exported from Pakistan. In order to make people order mangoes in bulk, they started delivering mangoes in a Lamborghini. According to Muslims Having Fun “The sales of Pakistani mangoes have gone up by 100% and more customers are now keen on receiving their purchase with the “Mangoes in Lamborghini” option – even if they are bound to bear a waiting time of one week.”
The company is delivering 12 orders thrice a week but after the sudden spike in the demand for mangoes and the Lambo Mango delivery videos going viral on social media the company is now considering delivering mangoes five days a week. Who would’ve thought that Lamborghinis could be used to deliver fruits and create a great demand for them?
The marketing campaign has created a sudden excitement in the Pakistani and Indian Residents of Dubai and the love for mangoes which has been shared by people in the area has led to an increase in the demand for the fruit not only for consumption but also to watch this new exciting marketing technique.
According to the owner of the business, the demand for Pakistani mangoes has increased by 100%. Which concludes the fact that a seductive marketing campaign can lead to an increase in sales even when there is a lot of uncertainty in the market and people are afraid of spending money.
Such campaigns and examples prove that a business can be uplifted if people get creative with their marketing campaigns. This is encouraging other companies to work on their marketing campaigns and increase sales.
