Las Vegas, NV - January 16, 2017 - On January 15, 2017 at approximately 11:30 p.m. LVMPD patrol officers were dispatched to the 4200 block of Warbonnet Way to investigate multiple reports of a disturbance. Callers indicated an adult male was screaming at their doors and was bleeding. Arriving officers located the man in front of a residence in the 4400 block of Warbonnet Way suffering from an apparent stabwound. The man was initially transported to Spring Valley Hospital, but from there was transported to the UMC Trauma Center. He was pronounced deceased a few hours later.
The investigation initiated by the LVMPD Homicide Section indicated the man lived with a family member and a roommate in a house located in the 4200 block of Warbonnet Way. There was a physical fight involving the injured man and a male family member. The men were separated by the roommate, but a few minutes later, the man who ultimately died, reportedly attacked the family member again. During the fight, both men were injured and the decedent was stabbed.
Thisis the 5th homicide investigated by the LVMPD in 2017. The identity of the victim, as well as the cause and manner of death, will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office. The other man involved in this incident was transported to the University Medical Center, treated for injuries he received in the fight, and was interviewed by detectives. At this time, the man has not been arrested as it appears he was acting inself-defense. At the conclusion of their investigation, detectives will submit their findings to the Clark County District Attorney’s Office for review.
