Las Vegas, NV - April 14, 2017 - On April 13, 2017 at approximately 12:56 a.m., officers were dispatched to an apartment complex located in the 3600 block of East Sahara Avenue to investigate reports of a shooting. Responding officers located an unresponsive adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound inside of an apartment. Officers also contacted the resident of the apartment who remained on scene for police to arrive.
The investigation initiated by the LVMPD Homicide Section indicated the resident was at his apartment when the front door was forced open by an unidentified adult male armed with a handgun. The resident retrieved his own handgun and shot the suspect.
This is the 46th homicide investigated by the LVMPD in 2017. The identity of the deceased suspect, as well as the cause and manner of death, will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office. As of this release, no arrests have been made.
At the conclusion of the investigation, the findings will be submitted to the Clark County District Attorney’s Office for review.
