Las Vegas, NV - June 9, 2016 - On June 8, 2016 at approximately 2:21 a.m., officers were dispatched to investigate reports of a deceased male on a pedestrian bridge in the area of Casino Drive and State Route 163 in Laughlin, Nevada.
The investigation initiated by the LVMPD Homicide Section indicated the victim was likely homeless. Evidence at the scene suggested the male had been involved in a physical altercation prior to the homicide.
Through the course of the investigation, detectives identified 49-year-old Walter W. Klatt as the suspect in this homicide. Klatt was arrested in the early morning hours in Bullhead City, Arizona on an unrelated misdemeanor charge. He remains in custody in Arizona awaiting extradition to Nevada for one count of Murder with a Deadly Weapon. A booking photo is not available at this time.
This is the 77th homicide investigated by the LVMPD in 2016. The identity of the deceased as well as the cause and manner of death, will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
