LVMPD Receives “Joining Forces” Grant for Traffic Safety
Las Vegas, NV - November 9, 2015 - On October 1, 2015, the Nevada Department of Public Safety, Office of Traffic Safety awarded the LVMPD $262,500 in federal grant funds to continue the statewide campaign known as "Joining Forces." This money will be used to conduct safety enforcement events throughout the City of Las Vegas and Clark County.
The 16 "Joining Force" events scheduled for federal fiscal year 2015-2016 will focus officers' efforts on seatbelt usage, pedestrian safety, distracted driving, speeding, and the dangers of driving under the influence. The LVMPD and the other 26 cooperating agencies are working hard to achieve the goal of "Zero Fatalities!"
This is a statewide campaign that aims to reduce serious injuries, death and property damage associated with traffic crashes. All of the participating agencies are working together to “Join Forces” as they combat the various traffic safety issues. By working together, we have a greater impact on roadway safety.
