Shooting in Parking Lot Leaves One Dead
Las Vegas, NV - February 5, 2016 - At approximately 12:30 p.m. on February 4, 2016 the LVMPD Dispatch Center received several reports of a person shot in a parking lot located in the 100 block of South Rainbow Boulevard. Responding patrol officers located an adult male with apparent gunshot wounds. Medical personnel arrived and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.
The investigation initiated by the LVMPD Homicide Section indicated that the victim was at the above location with the suspect and another subject. The suspect and the victim were involved in an altercation which escalated when the victim was shot. The suspect fled before officers arrived.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male adult in his mid 20’s, standing approximately 6’1” tall and was further described as having a thin build and dark hair. He was last seen fleeing in a gray 4 door sedan, possibly a Nissan Altima or Toyota, and may have a broken window as a result of the shooting. The motive behind the shooting remains under investigation
This is the 13th homicide investigated by the LVMPD in 2016. This investigation remains ongoing and the identity of the victim, as well as the cause and manner of death will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
