Only 1/3 of States Have Updated Police Use-of-Force Laws
A wave of police killings of young black men in 2014 prompted 24 states to pass some type of law enforcement reform, while many declined to address the most glaring issue: police use of force. Now, some governors and legislators want to revive action on the issue after George Floyd's death.
