Working Together to Improve Health Literacy
Health literacy is the degree to which an individual has the capacity to obtain, communicate, process, and understand basic health information and services to make appropriate health decisions. Collaborations across public health, health care, and literacy organizations allow them to share ideas, information, and resources. Visit CDC's Health Literacy Activities by State web page to learn what states are doing to improve health literacy.
