Rising Artist Amaru Son Brings a Fresh Look to the Music Industry With His Tribute to Anime

Amaru Son, whose real name is JaKealon Amaru Chase, hails from the cultivation midwest city of Kansas City, Missouri. As a child, Amaru grew up surrounded by an environment richly invested in the art of music. From his family to his friends, he was exposed to a diverse category of music.

Outside of music, Amaru was also passionate about sports. He especially loved the dynamics of track and field. But making a name for yourself is no easy feat, Amaru understood. For his brand, he was heavily influenced by anime culture. The legendary anime show Dragon Ball Z gave him the idea to take the stage name, Amaru Son, paying tribute to the protagonist Son Goku. The influence doesn't end there as Amaru also had a graphic artist design pay tribute to the anime in the cover art for his singles. He also had his own character design with hopes of making it into some anime shows and lending his voice in a role.

Amaru has been compared to names like Iann Dior, Lil Uzi Vert, Trippie Redd, and Juice WRLD as an artist. He takes inspiration from Michael Jackson, Childish Gambino, and The Weeknd. As an independent artist, Amaru does most of the work himself, recording, producing, engineering, mixing, and mastering his songs.

By 2019, Amaru's luck would start turning around. His songs would start getting recognized by popular YouTubers such as Tommy Craze and Im Dontai. The recognition proved to be a game-changer as it gave him the start he needed. Since then, Amaru Son has been on the rise. His song "Lost & Found" went viral and garnered over six million streams on multiple platforms. Following his rise, Amaru also gained a following as people found they could relate to his songs.
