OCC Reports Fourth Quarter 2017 Bank Trading Revenue
The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency reported trading revenue of U.S. commercial banks and federal savings associations of $5 billion in the fourth quarter 2017, $1.4 billion, or 21.2 percent, lower than the previous quarter. In its report, Quarterly Report on Bank Trading and Derivatives Activities, the OCC also noted that trading revenue in the fourth quarter 2017 decreased by 16.1 percent compared with the $6 billion reported in the fourth quarter 2016.
