Ceramic Tiles Or Wood Tiles
ceramic or wood? What is ceramic parquet?
Among the first questions faced by the owner of a new apartment or private house is the following: "What material will the floors be made of and what is the cost of laying this or that floor covering?" In Russia, linoleum and parquet boards are considered traditional flooring materials. The former is prized for its relative economy and ability to wash easily, and the latter is primarily for its aesthetic qualities. However, if linoleum and parquet are suitable materials for the hallway, then the design of the bathroom, living room and kitchen require flooring materials with characteristics that correspond to the conditions of these premises. The purchase of various flooring materials, as a rule, hits hard on the wallet of the apartment owner, and from the point of view of style unity, the interior of the apartment loses a lot. Is there a way out? Of course. Consider wood-style tile flooring.
In this article, we will see the advantages of ceramic parquet over other floor coverings.
Presentation features
The only protection for wooden parquet against abrasion, humidity and high temperatures is varnish. Even if several layers of varnish are applied to the parquet, after a few months of operation, small scratches and abrasions form on the surface. The way out of this situation is another varnishing or polishing. Ceramic parquet (modern wood effect tiles) is made of two types of clay, the firing temperature of which reaches 1300 degrees. The addition of quartz, feldspar and natural dyes allows to obtain a material of unique resistance: porcelain stoneware, from which parquet tiles are formed.
Health and security
Any synthetic material is potentially dangerous for human health. For example, a parquet board is covered with varnish, which, when dry, emits a large number of harmful substances. Dried varnish often crumbles and forms ultra-fine particles that conventional cleaning products cannot capture. Studies of linoleum and some other synthetic materials show that from 1 square meter of linoleum, an average of 10 mg of polyvinyl chloride resins is released into the air per day.
Ceramic parquet is produced using environmentally friendly technologies using natural materials, similar to ceramic tiles. Clay, feldspar, water, pigment (usually metal oxide) - these are the main components of ceramic parquet.
Color and design solutions
The unique design of a tree cannot be accurately reproduced by any artificial material. Linoleum, laminate, carpet, and other synthetic floors are just trying to emulate it. Only stone and porcelain stoneware can compete with wood in the beauty and uniqueness of the pattern. Porcelain stoneware parquet floors can be painted in almost any color with millions of shades. Pigmenting substances are contained throughout the entire thickness of porcelain stoneware, so its pattern will never fade.
Warm surface
Often one of the disadvantages of ceramic floors is their low temperature. However, if the temperature near the floor is lower than average in the room, then no amount of hardwood floors will prevent your feet from freezing. Only by equipping your floor with a heating system, you can forget about warm slippers and woolen socks. Ceramic parquet is the only material suitable for underfloor heating systems. It does not dry out like a tree, does not fade and does not stick to your feet like linoleum and does not emit harmful substances under the influence of high temperatures.
Do not forget that laying ceramic parquet, as well as laying ceramic tiles on the floor, is cheaper than conventional wood. And given the durability of a material like porcelain stoneware, the savings appear to be much greater.
