What Internet Marketing Channel Is Best For My Business
Are you a small business and have decided to try your hand at internet marketing, but you have no clue where to start? Well lucky for you, I'm here to help. I will provide you with actional tips on what digital marketing channels might be best for your company.
In Internet marketing, you have many channels to choose from, but the most used ones are search engine optimization, email, pay-per-click, and social media marketing. Now the biggest issue with new marketers is they don't properly do their homework and research what platform would work best for their products and services. You can treat your marketing like a one size fits all type of thing. Individual channels perform better for specific products and or services.
I will discuss the marketing channels mentioned above and when to best to utilize for your business.
Email Marketing
Let's start with email marketing. Email marketing is not going to be much help for new businesses. Well, it won't be the way I do marketing because I don't believe in spamming or using bought lists. I recommend using an opt-in email list, and this takes time to build-up. This is why I don' t recommend using it to generate income for small businesses. You can use it once you build up your customer base to send emails out to keep your brand fresh among your current clients.
Search Engine Optimization Marketing
SEO is an excellent online marketing method when done correctly can drive lots of traffic. However, search engine optimization takes time to do. I would suggest fixing your website, so its search engine friendly and research to see what keywords have sufficient search volume. Even if you do everything correctly and choose keywords with less competition, it will probably take 3 to six months to start seeing rankings. So, if you need leads and sales quickly, SEO might not be the best method to use.
Pay-Per-Click Marketing
This method is excellent for generating revenue quickly. You can usually set up an account in a couple of days. The trick here is picking the proper platform. My suggestions would be to look at Google Adwords, Facebook, or Bing. Do your homework and find the most appropriate one for you. PPC is a bid-based system where you pay for each click of your ad. I would recommend setting a budget, so your expenses don't get too high.
I like to combine pay-per-click marketing with search engine optimization. I will begin to scale back spending on PPC marketing once I start to see organic rankings through SEO.
Finally, that leaves us with social media marketing. Social media marketing is great for user engagement and branding. The key is choosing the right social sites to market on. Your product or services are geared to younger people than Instagram would properly be a good fit. Your demographic age leans on the older side give Facebook a try. Happen to market to a business than maybe Linkedin would work best for you. You can either create ads or engage the people manually.
Do Your Research
Now that you have learned about the marketing channels research to see what platforms would work best for your business. Marketing is often about trial and error. Just remember to test and keep track of the data so you can see what is working and what is not.
