Man Found Dead Near Sunrise Mountain
Las Vegas, NV - January 19, 2018 - On January 18, 2018 at approximately 3:11 p.m., the LVMPD Air Unit observed a body in the desert area north of Sunrise Mountain off of East Lake Mead Boulevard during an unrelated search. LVMPD patrol units were dispatched to the area to investigate and assist with the recovery of the body. Officers located the deceased adult male and observed that he had numerous injuries. It was determined that the death was suspicious and detectives were contacted.
The investigation initiated by the LVMPD Homicide Section indicated that the victim suffered from gunshot and stab wounds. Evidence at the scene suggests the victim had been there for at least 24 hours.
The identity of the victim, as well as the cause and manner of death, will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office. As of this release, detectives have not identified a motive and no suspects have been identified.
