Former Sergeant Sentenced to Life For Murder of Fellow Soldier
A former US Army sergeant, Byron Booker, has been sentenced to life in federal prison without parole for the premeditated murder of a former soldier at Fort Stewart in Georgia. Booker, who admitted to killing Specialist Austin J. Hawk in his barracks room in June 2020, was also fined $2,500 and will serve five years of supervised release after completing his prison sentence.
