DOJ Silent On Senator Concerns About Correction Facilities Under Federal Consent Decrees
In October, Four U.S. senators described the conditions of the jail system in Los Angeles as a "humanitarian crisis" and "appalling," and decrying conditions at a number of U.S. jails under consent decrees in a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland. Last week, the Department of Justice acknowledged that they received the letter but declined to comment.
