U.S. Marshals Arrest Two Wanted for Murder Charges, to Include Man Wanted for Killing Two Local Brothers in Bedford Heights
Cleveland, OH – Today, members of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Shawntell Ellis, 29, and Eric Harris, 33. Ellis was wanted by the Bedford Heights Police Department for double homicide and Harris was wanted by the East Cleveland Police Department for homicide.
According to Bedford Heights Police, Shawntell Ellis is suspected of shooting and killing Dominic Cunningham, 22, and Joshua Cunningham, 21, in the parking lot of a local restaurant in Bedford Heights in the early hours of Oct. 7, 2023. The two victims were brothers from Northeast Ohio. Ellis was identified as the suspect and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Members of the task force developed information that Ellis was residing at an address near the 12300 block of Cedar Ave., in Cleveland Heights and today task force members arrested him at that address. Also, inside the same residence, was Eric Harris, who was wanted by the East Cleveland Police Department for homicide. At least two firearms were located inside the residence and seized at the time of the arrest.
U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott stated, “Today, the family of the slain brothers are one step closer to justice after the arrest of this wanted fugitive. Our task force will continue to pursue those fugitives who are wanted for egregious violent offenses.”
