Saucier Man Sentenced to Over 2 Years in Prison for Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
GULFPORT, Miss. — A Saucier man was sentenced to 27 months in federal prison for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Damion Xavier Giglio, 39, was sentenced in U.S. District Court in Gulfport.
According to court documents, on Feb. 11, 2023, Giglio was encountered by Marine Resource Officers on a piece of property located in Saucier, Harrison County, MS. During the contact, Mr. Giglio was arrested for trespassing, not wearing hunter’s orange, and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Giglio was indicted by a federal grand jury on March 21, 2023. He pled guilty on October 17, 2023, to possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
U.S. Attorney Todd W. Gee and Special Agent in Charge Joshua Jackson of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) made the announcement.
The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Erica Rose.
