U.S. Marshals Apprehend Florida Murder Suspect in Georgia
Atlanta, GA - The U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force (SERFTF) and Florida/Caribbean Regional Fugitive Task Force (FCRFTF), in coordination with the West Palm Beach Police Department, on February 23, 2024, located and safely arrested a man wanted by the West Palm Beach Police Department for second-degree murder with a firearm.
Gary Everett, 46, was wanted in connection with the shooting death of a man whose body was found on the street in West Palm Beach October 10, 2023.
Everett is suspected of shooting the victim in his vehicle, dumping the body, and fleeing the scene. Everett has an extensive criminal history of arrests and convictions including assaults, firearms, burglary, and narcotics possession and trafficking.
FCRFTF investigators determined Everett fled Florida and was believed to be traveling to Georgia. FCRFTF requested the assistance of the SERFTF to locate the suspect. Investigators obtained information that Everett was staying with family members in Milledgeville, Georgia, and further investigative efforts led to information that Everett was in an apartment complex in the 2300 block of Sherry Circle.
Everett was arrested and transported to the Baldwin County Jail pending extradition to Florida.
