Philadelphia, PA - On February 29th, at approximately 2:15 p.m., members of the U.S. Marshals Eastern Pennsylvania Violent Crimes Fugitive Task Force and members of the Western Pennsylvania Fugitive Task Force, arrested escapee Alleem Borden, 29, in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. Borden was wanted for escaping custody after a transport to Philadelphia’s Episcopal hospital on February 26th. Borden was previously arrested February 25th, by the Philadelphia Police Department for theft of a vehicle.
Marshal Service investigators developed information early yesterday morning, that Borden had fled the Philadelphia area on the evening of February 27th, and was headed to Johnstown, Pennsylvania. Deputy Marshals from the Fugitive Task Force in Philadelphia then traveled to Johnstown and this afternoon, became aware of an address in 300 block of David Street, where they believed Borden may be hiding. A woman who resided at the suspected address, knew Borden from previous history in Philadelphia. At approximately 2:00pm the home was surrounded by multiple law enforcement agencies. After knocking and announcing, a woman answered the door and confirmed Borden was presently in the residence. A search was conducted, and it was concluded Borden had secured himself in the attic crawlspace. The crawlspace entry point was breached, and Borden had to be forcibly removed from the attic. Upon being removed, Borden was placed in restraints and transported to the Cambria County prison where he awaits transport back to Philadelphia.
Robert Clark, Supervisory Deputy Marshal stated, “When warrants are issued for persons who escape from custody, or are charged with violent crimes, the public should take comfort knowing there is a professional, dedicated, fugitive task force that specializes in finding people who do not wish to be found.”
