U.S. Marshals Apprehend Suspect Wanted in Drive-By Shooting
Chicago, IL – The U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force (GLRFTF), in coordination with the Chicago Police Department (CPD), on February 26, 2024, located and safely arrested a man wanted by the CPD for attempted first-degree murder.
Adelvis Carmona Rodriguez, 29, was also charged with aggravated assault with a weapon and weapon possession.
Carmona Rodriguez was identified as the shooter of a male victim that was struck multiple times during a drive-by shooting on the 2500 block of South Kedzie Avenue, Chicago, Illinois on February 4, 2024.
GLRFTF investigators utilizing various investigative techniques located and arrested Carmona Rodriguez on the 1100 block of S. Cicero Avenue, Chicago, and transported the suspect to the CPD 11th District for processing. Carmona Rodriguez is an illegal migrant from Venezuela and an alleged cartel member. The USMS GLRFTF began operations in June 2003.
The GLRFTF has partnership agreements with 93 federal, state, and local agencies and operates in Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin. The GLRFTF has apprehended more than 117,000 fugitives since its inception and is always striving to make communities safer.
