U.S. Marshals Apprehend Child Sex Offender
Columbia, SC - The U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) Carolinas Regional Fugitive Task Force (CRFTF), in coordination with the Lexington Police Department (LPD) and Aiken County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO), Feb. 29 arrested an Aiken man wanted by Lexington authorities for sex crimes against a child.
Jesus Sevilla Moreno, 38, was wanted for criminal solicitation of a child, sexual conduct with a minor, providing obscene material to a minor, aggravated assault, and crimes against property.
CRFTF investigators utilized various investigative techniques and determined Sevilla Moreno to be in the Aiken area. CRFTF, AKSO, LPD, and South Carolina Law Enforcement Division investigators proceeded to the 900 block of New Holland Road in Aiken and attempted to arrest the suspect.
When law enforcement attempted to take Sevilla Moreno into custody, he resisted arrest, physically fighting with investigators, and attempted to flee on foot but was caught and arrested.
Sevilla Moreno was transported to the Aiken County Detention Center.
