Readout from US Immigration and Customs Enforcement meeting with the National Immigration Project

WASHINGTON – U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement leadership met with the leadership of the National Immigration Project of the National Lawyers Guild yesterday. The engagement is part of the agency’s ongoing efforts to engage with stakeholders from across the immigration policy spectrum. The agency is dedicated providing open lines of communication with stakeholders regarding its mission and operations particularly as it relates to the care of those in custody.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement engages with stakeholders nationwide, including state, local, tribal, territorial governments, elected officials, and law enforcement, the private sector, faith-based organizations and colleges and universities. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement must enforce the laws set forth by Congress while ensuring the highest levels of care for those in our custody.
