$5,000 Reward for Fugitive Who Assaulted Off-Duty Police Officer
Philadelphia, PA - The U.S. Marshals Service Eastern Pennsylvania Violent Crime Fugitive Task Force is asking for the public’s assistance in locating Arthur Jones, 38.
On May 14, a warrant for aggravated assault, robbery, and firearm possession was issued by the Philadelphia Police Department for Jones’ role in the assault of an off-duty Philadelphia Police Officer. The Marshals Service Violent Crimes Fugitive Task is assisting the Philadelphia Police in locating and apprehending Jones.
The U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) and Philadelphia Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 5 are each offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to Jones arrest. The $5,000 reward will be processed immediately upon arrest and not upon conviction.
Jones stands 5 feet 6 inches and weighs approximately 160 pounds. He has black hair, brown eyes, and has a tattoo of dice on his left forearm. His last known address was in the 600 block of W. Harold Street.
“A fugitive who has been charged with assaulting a law enforcement officer becomes a priority case for this task force. We are hoping the public can provide information which will expedite bringing a dangerous individual to justice,” said Supervisory Deputy U.S. Marshal Robert Clark.

The Eastern Pennsylvania Violent Crimes Fugitive Task Force is a team of law enforcement officers led by U.S. Marshals in Philadelphia and the surrounding counties. The task force’s objectiveis to seek out and arrest violent crime fugitives. Membership agencies include the Philadelphia Police Department, Pennsylvania State Parole Officers, Pennsylvania State Police, Pennsylvania Attorney General Agents, Chester Police Department, and Bucks County Sheriffs.
