U.S. Marshals Arrest Male, Age 16, Charged in Deadly Shooting
Jackson, TN – U.S. Marshals and the Jackson Police Department arrested a teen charged in the attempted robbery and deadly shooting of a man in a Jackson housing complex.
On September 1, 2024, at approximately 3:30 p.m., the Jackson Police Department (JPD) responded to a shooting inside an apartment on Lincoln Circle in Jackson, TN. A man was found deceased from gunshot wounds. JPD investigators identified a Jackson male, age 16, as a suspect. On September 3rd, a petition through Madison County Juvenile Court was issued charging the teen with first degree murder and attempted especially aggravated robbery.
The U.S. Marshals Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force (TRVFTF) in Jackson was requested to locate and apprehend the teen. Around 4:45 p.m., on September 3rd, Deputy marshals and JPD Officers took the teen into custody at a residence in the 100 block of Barham Street in Jackson. He was transported to the Madison County Juvenile Detention Center.
The U.S. Marshals Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force is a multi-agency task force within Western Tennessee. The TRVFTF has offices in Memphis and Jackson, and its membership is composed of Deputy U.S. Marshals, Shelby, Fayette, and Tipton County Sheriff’s Deputies, Memphis and Jackson Police Officers, Tennessee Department of Correction Special Agents, and the Tennessee Highway Patrol. Since 2021, the TRVFTF has captured over 2,600 violent fugitives and sexual predators.
