NEW ORLEANS, LA / ACCESS Newswire / April 29, 2025 /In 1973, the historic National Black Women 's Organization conference was a turning point toward unapologetic Black feminist organizing and movement building. More than 50 years later, rooted in the tradition of radical Black feminist organizing, Black Feminist Future is holding the largest gathering of Black feminists in the country.
Happening June 5-7 in New Orleans, Get Free: A Black Feminist Reunion is a strategic convening that will unite hundreds of Black feminists in collective learning, knowledge-sharing, and action. By bringing together diverse voices, this gathering reinforces the Black feminist movement 's capacity to address rising fascism, combat systemic oppression, and influence policies that directly affect Black lives. Through leadership development, advocacy training, and powerful storytelling, participants will build the skills and solidarity needed to advocate for their communities and to drive tangible change. Get Free 2025 empowers its attendees with a renewed sense of purpose, preparing them to actively shape the future of Black feminist liberation.
"As the threats to social justice grow, Black feminist organizing becomes even more critical, offering not only a voice for equity and resilience but also a path for true transformative change," said Paris Hatcher, Executive Director of Black Feminist Future, a political hub focused on the dynamic possibilities of galvanizing the social and political power of Black women, girls, and gender-expansive people towards liberation by building and nourishing the leadership of fierce Black feminists, fortifying aligned organizations and movements, and shifting cultural norms.
