With more than 40 years of experience, Mr. Jeffrey is a distinguished leader and professional in the fields of pharmacy and counseling. As a director of Wellness International Inc., he aims to utilize this role to provide access to healthcare for those in need.
Mr. Jeffrey 's professional career is supported by a bachelor 's degree in pharmacy, which he earned from the University of Pittsburgh in 1982. In addition to this academic foundation, he holds certification as a registered pharmacist and authorization to administer injectables from the State Board of Pharmacy of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. He is also certified to provide basic life support by the American Heart Association Inc.
From Pennsylvania to the Caribbean
Following his education, Mr. Jeffrey went on to serve as a staff pharmacist for Thrift Drug Company for one year. Afterward, he became a quality control pharmacist with Guyana Pharmaceutical Corp. Ltd., in Georgetown, Guyana. By 1985, he transitioned to the role of coordinator of the pharmacy program at the University of Guyana. In 2000, Mr. Jeffrey moved to a similar position as the coordinator of the pharmacy technician training program at Success Training College in Nassau, Bahamas. Two years later, he was appointed as a staff pharmacist at Princess Margaret Hospital, also in Nassau.
Returning to Pennsylvania in 2005, Mr. Jeffrey would serve as a pharmacist with Rite Aid Corp. for three years, a staff pharmacist at CVS for two years, and return to Rite Aid Corp. as a pharmacist for the following 12 years.
Leadership at Wellness International Inc.
In 2022, Mr. Jeffrey became a director of Wellness International Inc. in Guyana, a position he still holds today. He has also served as a part-time pharmacist at Organic Remedies, a medical marijuana dispensary in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, since 2024.
In his role at Wellness International Inc., Mr. Jeffrey aims to serve and connect with the community by providing access to key health care. He attributes his continued success in this regard to hard work, sacrifice and the support of his mother, who prioritized his education and encouraged him to never give up.
Civic and Membership Involvement
Outside of his professional career, Mr. Jeffrey is involved in several civic activities and memberships. He is a member of the Fraternal Order of Freemasons and serves as a volunteer pharmacist with the Guyana Medical Mission Inc. Additionally, he is a lifetime member and former president of the Guyana Pharmacists Association, as well as a former vice president and recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Caribbean Association of Pharmacists. He also served as a council member of the Commonwealth Pharmacists Association.
A Vision for the Future of Health Care
Over the next five to 10 years, Mr. Jeffrey hopes to continue his mission to provide access to health care and pharmaceuticals to all. He believes that access to these resources should be a fundamental right, and his work advances that aspirational goal. As he pushes toward this goal, Mr. Jeffrey plans to further participate in volunteer work, thereby improving the lives of those around him.
