National Compassionate Leadership Week Launches with Inspiring Events Led by the TramutoPorter Foundation
A week of events highlights how compassion in leadership can inspire change in education, healthcare, and communities worldwide.
OGUNQUIT, ME / ACCESS Newswire / September 8, 2025 /National Compassionate Leadership Week officially began on Sunday, September 7, inviting leaders across industries to embrace empathy, connection, and heart as the cornerstones of effective leadership. Founded in 2022 by the TramutoPorter Foundation in partnership with National Day Calendar, this movement is a call to action for leaders to recognize that compassion is not a soft skill-it 's a strategic imperative.
This week, the TramutoPorter Foundation is hosting a series of events designed to highlight compassion in action and inspire others to do the same.
On September 9, the Foundation will deliver three impactful presentations: at St. Joseph 's College in Standish, Maine; at Andwell Health Partners, also in Maine; and on an international stage through a global Zoom presentation with Kerry Kennedy to the leaders and alumni of Global Health Corps. Each event underscores the importance of weaving compassion into education, healthcare, and global leadership.
On September 11, the Foundation will host a transformative new leadership training for educators at the Regis College Fine Arts Center. This invitation-only event will bring together approximately 50 faculty members, professors, and teachers from academic institutions affiliated with the Foundation 's scholarship programs. With a focus on self-compassion as the foundation for compassionate leadership, the training is designed to empower educators to guide future generations with empathy and resilience in a rapidly evolving world.
On September 13, compassion will take the stage at the Ogunquit Playhouse, where the Foundation is funding a special human rights initiative. Children and their families associated with the Maine Center for Grieving Children will be invited to an afternoon of performance, offering both healing and joy through the arts.
"These events are just a few examples of how compassion can be brought to life this week," said Donato Tramuto, co-founder of the TramutoPorter Foundation. "We hope they serve as a challenge to others-whether at work, at home, or in the community-to do the same and lead with heart."
Compassionate Leadership Week reminds us that leaders who listen deeply, respond thoughtfully, and act with kindness create environments where people feel seen, heard, and valued. In times of uncertainty, compassion fuels resilience, trust, and sustainable growth.
The TramutoPorter Foundation invites leaders, organizations, and communities everywhere to celebrate this week by hosting workshops on emotional intelligence, recognizing compassionate team members, creating spaces for dialogue, and reflecting on their own leadership journeys.
