Sherry Deutschmann Brings BrainTrust to Atlanta Following $5.4 Million Raise to Support Women Founders
ATLANTA, GA / ACCESS Newswire / March 19, 2026 /Sherry Deutschmann, founder of BrainTrust, is bringing her national community for women entrepreneurs to Atlanta this month following a $5.4 million funding milestone toward a $7 million round. BrainTrust helps women founders grow their businesses to $1 million in annual revenue and beyond, a landmark historically reached by only about 2 percent of women-owned businesses. Crossing this threshold unlocks financial independence, influence, and generational wealth, empowering women to scale sustainably.
Deutschmann 's journey is both personal and inspiring. While supporting herself and her daughter, she started her career cleaning gas station bathrooms and working as a house cleaner in rural North Carolina. Without college or professional connections, she built a healthcare revenue cycle management company from her basement into roughly $40 million in recurring revenue before selling it to private equity. That experience inspired BrainTrust, which now provides peer support, mentorship, and structured guidance to women founders aiming to grow and scale their businesses.
"Reaching $1 million in annual revenue is a turning point for women entrepreneurs, " said Deutschmann. "It unlocks financial independence, influence, and the ability to build generational wealth, setting the stage to grow far beyond that milestone. "
BrainTrust 's fundraising was intentionally structured with angel investors and family offices, prioritizing partners aligned with the organization 's mission rather than traditional venture capital pressures. Deutschmann conducted roughly 30 investor meetings, and more than 75 percent of funding comes from women, highlighting both the community and financial impact of the initiative.
The Atlanta launch will feature three "Lowdown " events, BrainTrust 's signature introduction for women business owners. These sessions are designed to spark collaboration, peer learning, and actionable strategies for growth, and they are ideal for print, digital, broadcast, and social media storytelling. The events will take place across Atlanta and surrounding areas on March 26 and 27, including sessions in Old Fourth Ward, Buckhead, and Alpharetta.
"BrainTrust is about building a community where women share challenges and strategies, creating actionable insights that accelerate growth and hold one another accountable every step of the way, " said Deutschmann.
The $5.4 million raise will support BrainTrust 's expansion into 20 cities by 2030, including Austin, Tampa/St. Petersburg, and Denver, while strengthening its national virtual model. In Nashville, members collectively employ 1,600 full-time staff and generate roughly $250 million in revenue, demonstrating tangible economic impact.
"If women founders had access to the same resources as men, the impact to the economy wouldn 't be a trickle effect. It would be a tsunami, " Deutschmann said. "Supporting women-owned businesses fuels local job creation, strengthens communities, and drives long-term economic growth. "
This launch comes during Women 's History Month, highlighting both the personal journeys of women entrepreneurs and the broader systemic importance of supporting women-led businesses in driving economic growth, leadership, and opportunity.
