MEMRI Mourns the Passing of Bernie Marcus
WASHINGTON, DC / ACCESSWIRE / November 7, 2024 /The Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Bernard "Bernie" Marcus, a friend of MEMRI, visionary, compatriot of the United States.
His boundless energy, commitment, and all-embracing humanity set him apart from the rest in philanthropy, business, politics and everything that he undertook and valued.
Bernie was an American inspiration, the son of immigrants from Russia who through ambition, overcame adversity, and rose to great heights, founding Home Depot and The Marcus Foundation, which continues to help millions of people in America and around the world.
He shared our vision and commitment in strong support of national security, and democratic values, helping to bring MEMRI to its present achievements and global impact.
MEMRI extends its deepest sympathies to his wife Billi Marcus, his children and family, and his many colleagues, friends, and loved ones.
