On July 21, 2023, SXU became aware of a security incident on its IT Network. As a result, SXU launched an investigation with the assistance of cybersecurity experts to determine the nature of the incident. The investigation determined that an unauthorized third party gained access to certain files of SXU between June 29, 2023, and July 18, 2023. As a result, SXU did a comprehensive review of the incident to identify the exact type of information involved and the details of individuals affected. On August 26, 2024, the review was completed, and it was confirmed that sensitive personal information of individuals was impacted.
SXU 's investigation discovered that the following types of sensitive personal information may have been exposed in the data breach: Full name, Social Security number, and financial account number.On October 30, 2024, SXU issued a public disclosure about the data breach and started sending notice letters to individuals impacted. Compensation may be available for those individuals who received notice that their personal information was compromised.
