PACIFIC GROVE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- California American Water announced the completion of its Dolores Street Water Main Replacement Project in Carmel. This important infrastructure improvement project helps ensure continued reliable water service for residents and businesses in the area.

The Dolores Street improvements included the replacement of approximately 3,000 feet of 100-year-old water main pipe, which will help prevent future breaks and minimize service interruptions for California American Water customers. The completed project also included the installation of three new fire hydrants and replacement of two existing ones, significantly improving water flow for fire protection and enhancing public safety for first responders.

In addition to the below ground main replacement improvements, completion of the project included enhancing the previous condition of Dolores Street by applying a slurry seal on the road.
