Payson Priola is a non-emergency transportation (NET) driver responsible for transporting Maine Medicaid members between their home and medical appointments, when those individuals have transportation barriers that would otherwise impact their ability to access healthcare. She started with Modivcare in 2022, and covers Androscoggin, Franklin, and Oxford Counties.
Modivcare named Priola driver of the year as she has shown reliability, adaptability, an overall positive attitude, and client satisfaction. Priola is dependable and handles tough situations during trips with responsible decisions that positively impact her members. Priola regularly volunteers for trips or to cover times when it is needed most. She is regularly requested by her members and goes above and beyond with any free time she has during her workday.
“Payson is the definition of a star employee,” Modivcare Maine’s Fleet Manager Susan Taylor said. “She is someone we can count on when we need it most. She doesn’t hesitate to take on additional responsibilities, and we are happy that she is a part of our team.”
Priola is proud to be named Driver of the Year and have recognition for her hard work.
“It is important for me to be dependable, not only for Modivcare, but for the members who rely on our transportation to make it to their appointments or medical visits,” Priola said. “I look forward to continuing to serve our members as a valued member of the Modivcare team.”
Since 2014, Modivcare has grown its NET provider network in Maine from 10 to more than 45 local providers across the state, including 26 minority-owned and four women-owned small business providers, collectively employing more than 400 local, compliant contracted drivers.
Modivcare providers exceed state requirements for service and consistently deliver efficient, safe, and on-time transportation for Maine Medicaid members. Modivcare's dedication to punctuality is reflected in the company’s impressive track record, with on-time performance averaging over 94% and consistently surpassing its contractual service obligations. Additionally, Modivcare has maintained exceptionally low levels of member complaints and vehicle unavailability, both of which are consistently below 0.1%.
