CI Global Asset Management Files Preliminary Prospectus for CI Galaxy Solana ETF
TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- CI Global Asset Management (“CI GAM”) announces that it has filed, and obtained a receipt for, a preliminary prospectus for CI Galaxy Solana ETF (“the ETF” or “SOLX”).
SOLX’s investment objective is to provide unitholders with exposure to Solana tokens (“SOL”) through an institutional-quality fund platform. The ETF will invest directly in SOL with its SOL holdings priced based on the Bloomberg Galaxy Solana Index (the “Solana Index”), which is designed to measure the performance of a single SOL traded in U.S. dollars. The Solana Index is owned and administered by Bloomberg Index Services Limited.
SOLX will be managed by CI GAM and Galaxy Asset Management (“Galaxy”) will act as sub-advisor, executing all SOL trading on behalf of the ETF.
“SOLX is designed to provide exposure to the increasingly important Solana blockchain platform through the convenience of the ETF structure,” said Jennifer Sinopoli, Executive Vice-President and Head of Distribution for CI GAM. “Investors will also benefit from the deep expertise of Galaxy, which has extensive experience in the global cryptocurrency sector and in managing digital assets.”
“At Galaxy, we’ve been deeply embedded in the Solana ecosystem for years – not just as investors, but as one of the largest validators securing the network,” said Steve Kurz, Global Head of Galaxy Asset Management. “With our expertise in digital asset infrastructure and staking, we, in partnership with CI, are uniquely positioned to offer investors institutional-quality access to Solana through a familiar, low-cost investment vehicle.”
CI GAM offers one of the industry’s largest selections of investment funds for digital assets. The lineup includes ETFs and mutual funds focused on bitcoin and ether, a multi-crypto ETF and a blockchain ETF.
A preliminary prospectus dated February 3, 2025 containing important information relating to the securities of SOLX has been filed with the securities commissions or similar authorities in each of the provinces and territories of Canada. The preliminary prospectus is still subject to completion or amendment. A copy of the preliminary prospectus is available on www.sedarplus.ca. There will not be any sale or any acceptance of an offer to buy the securities until a receipt for the final prospectus has been issued.
