American Water Charitable Foundation Provides Grant to Support Kentucky Communities Affected by Floods
CAMDEN, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- The American Water Charitable Foundation, a philanthropic non-profit organization established by American Water (NYSE: AWK), the largest regulated water and wastewater utility company in the U.S., announced today that it is providing a $10,000 grant to the American Red Cross to support communities impacted by heavy rains and flash floods in Kentucky.
“Kentucky American Water, in collaboration with the American Water Charitable Foundation, is pleased to join the ongoing efforts in Eastern Kentucky to support families and communities impacted by the devastating floods,” said Robert Burton, president, Kentucky American Water. “We understand how critical safe, clean drinking water is in our daily lives and in times of emergencies. We hope this contribution can provide some assistance and relief to the residents of these impacted communities."
The Foundation’s Disaster Relief Grant Program is designed to increase the impact of American Water employee donations made in response to natural disasters such as floods, hurricanes, fires and other extraordinary disaster events.

The American Water Charitable Foundation is also a member of the Red Cross Disaster Responder Program, which proactively funds disaster relief and helps ensure the organization is better prepared to meet the needs of those affected by disasters, both big and small, across the U.S.
