Apptly and Koning Announce Strategic Partnership to Expand Patient Access to Non-Compression 3D Breast Imaging

(CSE: APPT) (FSE: 4KL) (the "Company" or "Apptly"), operator of the UberDoc direct-pay healthcare marketplace, today announced a strategic partnership with Koning Corporation ("Koning"), manufacturer of the FDA-approved Koning Vera Breast CT.

The partnership is built around market access. Koning has spent more than a decade proving the clinical case for breast CT and placing systems in the field. What has been harder is closing the distance between a patient who needs the study, and a site that has the system. UberDoc solves for that distance directly: patients search, see the price, and book, without a referral and without a payer contract standing in the way.
Under the agreement, Koning will display UberDoc physician and service listings within its platform and introduce its provider sites to UberDoc with the goal of onboarding them to the marketplace. Apptly, through UberDoc, will supply physician and service data along with trackable links that allow patients on Koning's platform to move directly into UberDoc to find and book an appointment. The companies will run joint marketing activity and will scope potential technology integrations for cash pay appointments over the course of the term.
For patients, the effect is a shorter path between learning that advanced breast imaging exists and being able to schedule it. More specifically, a woman whose mammogram returns an inconclusive or difficult-to-read result by the clinician, particularly a woman with dense breast tissue, often faces a sequence of authorizations and unexplained costs before she reaches a next-step imaging study. With UberDoc, she can see which physicians offer the study, what it costs, and when appointments are available.
The clinical need is well documented. According to the National Cancer Institute, mammography may not detect between ten and thirty percent of breast cancers, with misses frequently attributed to high breast density or fast-growing interval cancers. The American College of Radiology reports that for women with extremely dense breast tissue, up to seventy percent of cancers may go undetected by mammography alone.
The Koning Vera Breast CT is indicated to provide three-dimensional images for diagnostic imaging of the breast and is intended to be read alongside standard two-view mammography.

Agreement Terms
The agreement is for an initial term of twelve months from the effective date and renews for successive twelve-month terms unless either party provides written notice before the end of the then-current term. Either party may terminate for convenience during a renewal term on 60 days notice, or at any time for an uncured material breach. The parties have acknowledged their intent to establish a commercially reasonable revenue-sharing arrangement for transactions generated through the collaboration; the methodology, payment terms and any applicable exclusions have not yet been agreed and would be documented in a separate written amendment. The Company has not attributed any revenue to the agreement and no assurance can be given that a revenue-sharing arrangement will be concluded.
