ANAHEIM, Calif., March 31, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- To celebrate the grand re-opening of Anaheim Hyundai, Hyundai, Hyundai Hope On Wheels, and Anaheim Hyundai have come together to support child health and education initiatives in the local community. Hyundai and Anaheim Hyundai donated $15,000 to the Boys & Girls Club of Anaheim towards its educational programming as part of its corporate social responsibility initiative, Hyundai Hope, which seeks to foster positive growth in communities, particularly for children. The company also hosted its Hydrogen Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) program for elementary and middle school students at the Club. Additionally, Hyundai Hope On Wheels and Anaheim Hyundai donated $15,000 to the University of California Irvine for the UC Irvine Anti-Cancer Challenge to support its pediatric cancer research initiatives. "Hyundai is passionate about investing in the community where we live and do business, especially when it comes to children's health and education," said Brandon Ramirez, director, corporate social responsibility, Hyundai Motor North America. "We are proud to invest in the next generation of leaders by supporting programs that nurture and develop young minds. Additionally, the UC Irvine Anti-Cancer Challenge performs critical research on pediatric cancer, which Hyundai Hope On Wheels has championed for the past 27 years." Hyundai and Anaheim Hyundai donated to the Boys & Girls Club of Anaheim towards its educational programming. The donation will power the Club's state-of-the-art IMPACT Model, ensuring every member receives a well-rounded foundation to become future-ready. The program equips youth with essential educational resources, materials, and curriculum to bridge learning gaps and prevent summer learning loss. The Club also focuses on expanding horizons through public speaking, STEM programs, coding, entrepreneurship, and more, inspiring creativity and innovation. Hyundai hosted its Hydrogen STEM Program at the Boys & Girls Club of Anaheim at its Manzanita Clubhouse for over 25 elementary and middle schoolers. Students received a preview of the Hyundai Nexo, Hyundai's hydrogen fuel-cell SUV, and learned about clean energy and hydrogen technology. The students also built hydrogen-powered model vehicles, incorporating recycled materials and sustainable design principles, and tested on a Hyundai-branded racetrack. "We are proud to partner with Hyundai and Anaheim Hyundai to support the next generation of leaders by investing in education and innovation," said David Blair, senior director, philanthropy, Boys & Girls Club of Anaheim. "This generous contribution will empower local youth with the tools, resources, and opportunities they need to be future-ready and build great futures." Hyundai Hope On Wheels and Anaheim Hyundai also donated to the Anti-Cancer Challenge to support pediatric cancer research. Since its inception in 2017, the Anti-Cancer Challenge has raised over $6.2 million for groundbreaking cancer research and has funded a diverse range of pediatric cancer research projects. The donations received through the Anti-Cancer Challenge will continue to fund these critical studies and support the development of new, potentially life-saving treatments. Hyundai Hope On Wheels has been funding this type of research at institutions across the nation since 1998, establishing itself as an industry leader in supporting the fight against pediatric cancer.
