Through the Legendary Builders initiative, Intact Insurance is investing in the next generation of Canadian athletes and the communities that support them QUEBEC CITY, Sept. 15, 2026 /CNW/ -- Intact Insurance is proud to announce it has joined the Legendary Builders initiative, a first-of-its-kind program bringing together insurers and financial services organizations to support Canada's next generation of athletes. From February 27 to March 14, 2027, young athletes aged from 12 to 30 will compete in a national multisport event in Quebec City. This partnership represents a shared ambition to support the next generation of Canadian athletes and aligns closely with Intact's values of excellence and commitment to outperformance. Intact's support will help provide young athletes with training, mentorship and competition opportunities that enable them to pursue their goals, develop their skills and reach their full potential, while contributing to stronger, healthier and more resilient communities. "At Intact, we believe that supporting youth helps build stronger, healthier and more resilient communities. The Canada Games celebrates the determination, teamwork and potential of young athletes from across the country. We are proud to be part of the Legendary Builders initiative and to contribute to a collective effort that will have a meaningful impact on young people and communities," says Louis Gagnon, Chief Executive Officer, Intact Canada. The Legendary Builders initiative offers a new model for private sector support of major sporting events. It is built on the belief that organizations can create greater impact when they come together around a common cause and shared commitments. "As a former Canada Games participant, I know firsthand how meaningful this experience can be for young athletes. This opportunity can leave a lasting mark on an athlete's life, as it did on mine. I'm proud to see the next generation benefit from that same experience, and encouraged to see partners like Intact Insurance helping to carry the spirit of the Games forward," says William Dandjinou, Olympic medalist in short track speed skating and Intact Insurance athlete.
