CAMDEN, N.J., Oct. 5, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- The American Water Charitable Foundation, a philanthropic non-profit organization established by American Water (NYSE: AWK), the largest regulated water and wastewater utility company in the U.S., announced today that it awarded a $260,000 Corporate Strategic grant to the National Urban League, supporting the Affiliate Movement. Funding will support workforce development programs that expand skills, education, and opportunity in communities served by American Water. "The National Urban League is grateful to the American Water Charitable Foundation for its continued investment in our Affiliate Movement and its commitment to helping communities thrive," said Marc H. Morial, President and Chief Executive Officer, National Urban League. "This generous support will strengthen workforce development programs in cities across the country, equipping young people and adults with the skills, training, and resources they need to compete in today's economy and build brighter futures for themselves and their families. Founded in 1910, the National Urban League advances economic empowerment through programs focused on education, worforce and career development, housing and community development, entrepreneurship, health, and quality of life.
