SAN JOSE, Calif., Oct. 13, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- QuickLogic® Corporation (NASDAQ: QUIK), a developer of embedded FPGA (eFPGA) Hard IP, Strategic Radiation Hardened and Antifuse FPGAs, and ruggedized programmable logic solutions, today announced a new eFPGA Hard IP design win for a programmable system-on-chip (SoC) targeting battery management, precision motor control, and industrial robotic applications on a 16nm automotive process technology. The six-figure initial contract is expected to generate license revenue over the next six months, with royalty revenue anticipated upon production shipments.
The design win expands QuickLogic's presence into the rapidly growing robotics and battery management semiconductor markets, which is being driven by increasing adoption of electric vehicles, battery energy storage systems, renewable energy infrastructure, and industrial manufacturing management solutions. It also builds on the Company's strategy to expand adoption of its eFPGA Hard IP across applications requiring long product lifecycles, evolving algorithms, and post-silicon flexibility. "Battery management systems, industrial applications, and robotics represent exciting growth markets where adaptability and long product lifecycles are becoming increasingly important design considerations," said Andy Jaros, Vice President of IP Sales at QuickLogic. "As these systems grow more intelligent and software-driven, developers need the flexibility to evolve hardware functionality throughout a product's life. Our eFPGA Hard IP provides that capability while preserving the efficiency benefits of a custom SoC." Battery management systems have become increasingly sophisticated, demanding higher energy density, faster charging, longer operating life, enhanced safety, and improved system intelligence. Similarly, application-specific motor control systems demand reduced energy consumption, extended operating life, and early fault detection. As control algorithms and system requirements evolve, SoC developers increasingly need hardware flexibility without sacrificing the power, performance, and cost advantages of ASIC implementations. QuickLogic's eFPGA Hard IP enables developers to incorporate programmable hardware functionality directly into their SoCs, allowing them to adapt algorithms, implement new features, accelerate critical workloads, and extend product lifecycles without requiring costly silicon redesigns. The SoC will leverage QuickLogic's proprietary Australis™ eFPGA IP Generator, enabling a programmable logic fabric optimized for the customer's specific performance, power, and area requirements. The embedded programmable logic can be utilized for hardware acceleration, security functions, communications interfaces, advanced control algorithms, and other application-specific functionality.
